Glasgow Comedy Festival in March

We’re back with some shows in the diary for 2018.

First up will be a few shows in the Glasgow Comedy Festival in March. We’ve run a Five Fifers for a Fiver showcase show for a number of years now. It’s always just been a single performance each year but with an expanding number of Fife acts on the circuit we’ve decided to give as many acts as possible a chance to perform. So this year we’re running two separate shows in the Festival.

So you can catch the likes of Ross Leslie, Jay Miles and Declan McGuigan on Sunday 11th March and the likes of Graham Barrie, Kate Dillon and Richard Pulsford on Friday 16th March.

Both shows are at Liberte on North Street. Tickets are of course £5 (plus online booking fee) and can be bought from here:

Happy New Year!

What a great time we had at the annual Christmas Crackers show at The Star in Burntisland last night! This brought our 2017 events to a close, the 8th of the year.

In the past year we have been pleased to run events again for the Aberdour and Culross Festivals, and for Raith Rotary Club. We also organised the comedy for a Kirkcaldy Rugby Club event, as well as bringing back the ever popular ‘Five Fifers for a Fiver’ show at the Glasgow Comedy Festival for the 5th year.

In 2018 we already have not one, but two ‘Five Fifers’ shows booked in for the Glasgow Comedy Festival in March, as well as further shows in the pipeline for the Aberdour and Culross Festivals, and for the Raith Rotary Club again in September.

Happy 2018 everyone!

Christmas show at The Star Burntisland on 28th December

We’re pleased to be bringing back the annual Christmas show to The Star pub in Burntisland, on 28th December. We ran this show every year between Christmas and New Year from 2010, but decided to give it a miss last year. Having regretted that decision, we’ve agreed with the venue to have our first show back there in a couple of years. If you’re local, tell your friends about it and come along if you can!

Return to Culross – 30th September

We’ve run a comedy event at The Culross Festival for the past 3 years, and these have proved so popular that the organisers have now asked us to run events during the rest of the year as well.

So our new comedy night opens tomorrow, upstairs at The Stables. The event tomorrow includes Scottish acts such as Stu Who, Stephen Buchanan and Marc Jennings as well as other guests from further afield.

The event starts at 19:30 and tickets can be requested via the Culross Children’s Gala page on Facebook.

Raith Rotary event – 22nd September

The line up for the Raith Rotary Curry and Comedy night at Balwearie Golf Club in Kirkcaldy on 22nd September has been finalised. The two acts who will headline and compere the night both received 5-star Edinburgh Fringe reviews: Ray Bradshaw and Jay Lafferty. And with improvised raps from Will Naameh, and support from David Callan and Carina MacLeod, we can look forward to an excellent night of comedy!

September 2017 events

The Edinburgh Festival Fringe may be coming to a close but we continue to work on bringing new comedy events to Fife.

So far, we have two events lined up for September: a comedy and curry fundraising night for Raith Rotary Club in Kirkcaldy, and a new comedy night off the back of the successful Culross Festival comedy events held in June every year.

More details to follow shortly.

Aberdour Festival event – 31st July

We’ve helped plan the annual comedy night again this year for the annual Aberdour Festival. This will be the fourth year we have taken part.

This year sees an all Scottish line up with Vladimir McTavish and Ray Bradshaw performing longer sets, local comedian Ross Leslie doing a turn, and Rick Molland from Edinburgh’s new Monkey Barrel Comedy Club as compere.

The event is on a Monday night this year, on 31st July. Tickets are £10 and can be bought online or on the door on the night.

Carnegie Rotary Club fundraiser – 20th July

Our next event is a Curry and Comedy fundraiser for Carnegie Rotary Club on Thursday evening (20th July) at Apricot which is an Indian/Nepalese restaurant in Dunfermline.

The comedy section will include Edinburgh Festival Fringe preview performances from Ross Leslie and Jay Lafferty.

The night starts at 19:30 and tickets can be obtained from Carnegie Rotary Club.

Culross Festival this Friday – 6 of the best!

Ticket sales are going really well for this year’s Culross Festival comedy event which is taking place this Friday. But if you hurry you will still be able to get buy a ticket and catch six of the best comedians on the Scottish circuit at this event for just £12. And even better (touch wood), the weather forecast is looking promising. It promises to be a great night of comedy.

Culross Festival – 16th June

Next month, we’re back at The Culross Festival for the third year. We’ve put together the line up for the special comedy event on Friday 16th June at The Stables venue. And what a line up we have this year! MC Jay Lafferty will oversee proceedings, with acts including Gary Meikle and Vladimir McTavish, magician/comedian Graham Stewart and Hebridean Carina Macleod, and Eddy Brimson as headliner.
